Meze 99 Classics

The Meze 99 Classics delivers perfect natural sound even to the pickiest of audio lovers. The walnut wood earcups, soft earpads, and the spring steel headband will make the 99 Classics an heirloom rather than just a pair of headphones. Just like fingerprints, wood grain is as unique, thus making each pair of Meze Headphone a one of a kind. The 99 Classics have become a great staple within the catalogue of Meze Audio.

Meze 99 Classics – Stereophile Review

Although Ken Micallef has not done many headphone reviews, he figures that he is the perfect candidate to review the 99 Classics. Earlier Tyll Hertsens from Innerfidelity did a review of these Meze headphones, which is also available on Stereophile.

“I was immediately taken with the 99 Classics’ top-to-bottom coherence: a generally even tonal spread, with no part of the audioband dominating the rest. Spatial performance was good for sealed headphones, with generously sized images focused at the center of my cranium”

Next to the technology and sound impressions, the 99 Classics are compared to various interesting headphones, such as the Sennheiser HD650. John Atkinson also did measurements for these headphones from Meze Audio. The review is available on the Stereophile website, with a lovely conclusion at the end:

“99 Classics sealed-back headphones are agreeable performers with a slightly buttoned-down sound that I nonetheless found easy to love, and that worked well with a wide variety of music”
